The Silent Ball

Dear Friends and Supporters of DrugFAM ,

This Saturday 12th September 2020 we were all very much looking forward to attending  our Annual DrugFAM  Fundraising  Ball. This is organised by a wonderful group of ladies –‘The DrugFAM  Ball Committee’  who have worked tirelessly  over many years to fundraise for us.

The previous Annual Ball raised £50.000  which was an amazing amount to help us continue our work as we are not government funded.

Our support  services operate from 9-9pm seven days  a week every day of the year for those affected by a loved one’s addiction, those bereaved by addiction and our educational work in schools  about the impact of substances on families.  0300 888 3853 or office@drugfam.co.uk

We have had an exceptionally busy year, having received in the region of 6,800 calls and emails from people in the first 6 months of 2020.  This is a lot more than last year.

As you are all aware DrugFAM like many charities are unable to have any fundraising events due to the Global Pandemic, however we are not going to let COVID-19 stop us from doing some fundraising!

So I  suggested to the committee the idea of a ‘Silent Ball’ please see the attached document which explains how we are going to proceed.

A bit of background to the pictures:  Last year when Elizabeth was 69  her family decided it would be  a bit of fun to prepare her for her upcoming 70th birthday and as you can see gave her a  70th birthday cake as a surprise a year in advance – hence the fun pictures in the flyer

We are therefore going to run the  Silent Ball from  Saturday 12th September until Monday 5th October during which time we invite you to make a donation to the “Power of 7 at 70” as Elizabeth will be 70 on Monday 5th October. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/drugfamspowerof7
